When I read your story, there's a word that popped out to me and that is: decay. Everything here will decay and for a teddy bear that we often perceive as cute, that's a sad visualization. Also, it's interesting to see how a piece of fabric can bring so much meaning to us.
Thought-provoking, Tania! It made me ponder about how interesting humans are that we create backstories for inanimate objects (and people/situations), creating sense and meaning out of everything. It makes us pretty unique.
I like how you said “But teddy isn't even a 'he'. He is an 'it' personified by those who created him and kept him.” I think we do this to each other, to an extent. We’re different things to different people based on our relationships with them. Love this essay!
